Fourier-Transform Infrared (FTIR) Spectrometer

FTIR is a method that uses infrared light to identify materials.  This is particularly great for polymers and thin films.  The system measures how much light is absorbed at various wavelengths and translates this data using a Fourier Transform into a spectrum.  This is an extremely quick and effective way to ID unknown samples: a sample can be processed in just a few minutes.
